Transforming a backyard into an oasis can have its challenges, especially when the budget is limited. When a budget is limited you are often propelled into creativity, and with determination, a backyard can become a beautiful space, one that offers time for self-care and rest.

What Can Be Done First?

If you're starting with a space that offers a simple pad of grass and a fence, consider reading zero-turn mower reviews and giving your simple space a clean, manicured feel. It's challenging to transform a space if you haven't already made it look as beautiful as possible. Once the lawn is mowed, the weeds are pulled, and the junk is out, you can begin to formulate a vision for your space.

Who Will Be Using The Space?

If you have little ones that will be out in the back during warm summer days, consider adding homemade backyard games, a weatherproof chalkboard, and water play activities. If the space is only going to be used by adults, consider what you want the space to provide. Some of us prefer to garden, and water, and watch the butterflies, and others may prefer lots of grass to play volleyball or badminton.

Add In Pretty Details

A backyard can become cluttered quickly. Before adding your collection of bird feeders and garden decor, think about the layout of the space. Having a space for your plants, some potted, some in the ground, with a few decor elements mixed in will look less cluttered than placing all of the decor in one area. Add seating throughout, and a variety of seating. Solar lights, twinkle lights, and even lamps (in a covered space) will offer various lighting options for using your backyard in the evening.
