Life is sweet...like honey.

My husband and I, we believe that using our gifts to create and share with those around us is the path to peace in our lives. These gifts are from our heavenly Father; He designed us to give our gifts humbly, as a way to bless others; and this is possibly one way in which we can do this.

21 Read Alouds For The Whole Family

Most of you may already know that before Hurd & Honey I was a teacher....well, that fire is still burning, especially my passion for children's literature, literacy, and writing. I'll be honest, I haven't been the best about reading to Ester, it's not easy to read to babies. She wants to take the books out of my hands, babble loudly while I'm reading to her, or just simply climb on my back and pull my hair, you know, typical baby stuff. I'm determined to keep trying, and recently she has been asking me to show her the pages in her books. She likes to point to the objects that she's familiar with. I'm not sure how many more times I can flip through the pages of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, and I'm eager for the days where I can sit and read to her. Bur for now I'm going to cherish these days of her baby/toddler life and all that comes with it.

I made a list of some of the books that I'm looking forward to reading to her, and thought you'd enjoy these titles too. This list isn't specific to any age, because a great piece of literature can be shared at any age. This is simply a list of books that are worth reading aloud.

“A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest.” - C.S. Lewis

I think you've noticed that I love Little Women, yes, it's one of my top five books. I just love how different the March sisters are, and how any young girl can relate to one of them. My favorite was always Jo March.
