Inspiring Homes - August 2018

I have always loved looking at photos of different homes. I remember when I was in middle school I would cut out pictures of homes from magazines and piece together layouts of dream homes. I lived in several homes growing up, mostly apartments, and I always love the feeling of a new space that we could arrange and make into a home.

Here are a few of the most inspiring spaces that I have been looking at lately:

This little space is one of my most favorite spaces that I have noticed lately on Pinterest. I LOVE all of the florals and colors. I have always been hesitant to use pieces like this, only because it is easy to see the cords that fall behind the desk. I suppose a few cable organisers can fix this issue. Thankfully my husband is more annoyed by cords than even I am, so he always tries to make them discreet and tidy.

This space is just lovely, I love all of the neutrals with occasional pops of color. This space would look even more beautiful with a bold coloured sofa, in possibly dark green, or a rich plum.

The rug in this bedroom is beautiful, and the placement of it feels perfect. When we add vinyl or hardwood flooring to our bedroom I will surely add one of our rugs in this orientation. I LOVE the little windows in this space. They keep the bedroom private, but add just enough room for light to filter in. A bedroom should be able to fill with natural light during the day, and be closed up and cozy at night.

I would have to say that color has been the main theme throughout, you can really never have too much color.
