The Benefits of Rest
We all know that rest is important, but it's seems that we tend to place a greater emphasis on nutrition and exercise. Before we rest our heads in the evening we want to be sure that we have consumed enough phytochemicals. Ironically, if we're not resting enough, our bodies are unable to function well, which results in greater fat storage. Perhaps the extra trips to the gym aren't benefiting us if we're not sleeping enough.
Many people struggle with falling asleep and staying asleep. It is true that essential oils for aromatherapy will help fight insomnia. Knowing the benefits of sleep may also help us to make a better habit of better rest.
- Sleep reduces stress
- Sleep improves the immune system
- Sleep lifts the moods
- Sleep helps maintain weight
- Sleep prevents disease
- Sleep improves memory
- Sleep supports thoughtful decision making
Sterling Sleep Waterbed Collection has several mattress options that will support better rest, and the beds we choose is necessary first step to better rest. It's also important to create an environment conducive to rest: remove technology, use warm lighting or darken the room, sleep when it's dark, use essential oils, drink a cup of hot tea before bed, read before bed, etc.
For those of us that have poor habits surrounding rest, there is hope. If we're dedicated to making rest a priority before other things, we will begin to see the many benefits rest offers.
